Teaching

Tyler has a wealth of experience teaching piano, composition, music theory, and coaching chamber music groups. Taking a humanistic approach to teaching, Tyler does not believe in a one-size-fits-all process. Instead, a combination of his solo work, chamber work, composition, and jazz performance brings a breadth of knowledge that allows him to tailor his teaching approach to each student's needs, and places the teacher-student relationship at the centre of the developmental process.

Tyler has taught across a wide range of levels, from absolute beginners to grade 8, diploma, and undergraduate-level musicians.
